An Indigenous-led program for self-identified Indigenous women seeking 2nd stage support on their recovery journey. Encompassing a holistic philosophy, we work from the perspective of ‘two-eyed seeing’; this means that we combine both an Indigenous and Western approach to wellness.
Our program centers on traditional teachings, practices, and ceremonies from an Indigenous perspective. From a Western approach, we offer counselling, educational workshops, and clinical knowledge regarding mental health and the effects of drugs and alcohol, primarily within the protection of the Sacred Circle.
Participation in cultural activities is at the individual’s comfort level, we ask that everyone who attends has an open heart and mind.
Women commit to Program Guidelines and individual responsibility to follow through with their self-determined goals. Women who follow through with this commitment can choose to remain in our programs for up to 18 months, or longer, should need warrant. New Day is located in a quiet residential community in Vancouver.
